User fees are a great way for government to offer services. I think it's great. Keep giving us services we elect to pay for and you'll do no wrong.

So if a cop stops me for speeding, do I also have to pay him a usage fee, in addition to the fine? Or better yet, if he stops someone else for speeding, then everyone that was protected from the offending motorist would also have to pay a small usage fee, for the heightened safety?

If I get better service at Wendy's because the high-school graduate behind the counter learned well enough how to take my fucking order, do I then owe the public schools a usage fee?

I'd rather not pay for public schools, until they produce graduates who can properly serve me fries.
