I love how right-wing asshats can complain about the left-wing liberals and their lack of responsibility. Then you have their "news" organization that can't take a responsible approach to news, and would rather deliver commentary about how screwed up everything is due to actions of only one side? Yep, there's taking some responsibility right there.

The last hour before the world changed forever
I was asleep and my girlfriend had gotten out of bed, and already showered. She then came into the bedroom and turned on the TV, which was followed quickly by a "Holy fuck!". I opened my eyes and saw the first twin tower on fire. At first, I thought it was the opening scene from Armageddon, you know, when the meteor fragments had struck NY and they do that pan across the skyline? We had Starz at the time and the movie was in heavy rotation as I remember it. Anyways, it wasn't until I saw the "LIVE" up in the corner that I blinked and sat up in bed, agape.

Massive explosions - BLEVE
I took a course as a first responder when I worked at DOT and was told that a fire on the top of a tanker is 10x more dangerous then one at it's base. The idea is that a fire at the bottom is similar to a pot on a stove; it will take longer for the explosion to occur. Whereas a fire on the top of a tanker has a greater chance of exploding faster, due to the fumes rising, etc. Obviously, if you ever come across something like this, start running like hell. But *DON'T* stop, even when you think you are a safe distance away. The instructor kept repeating, "Just keep running...don't stop."
