Glenn Beck's Hate Speech, Brought to You By...

There's been a letter-writing campaign in recent weeks, calling on Beck's sponsors to drop him in the wake of these offensive comments.

Several have dropped out, including today's latest, GEICO. You can find more details on getting involved at http://colorofchange.org/beck/message.html

On the contrary. I think that this is a fantastic idea.

We see these snippets of hate and idiocy on the 'net all the time. We have righteous contempt for the hosts, and for the networks that carry them. But ultimately the source of their money is their advertisers. Normally we don't see this connection very clearly. A process like this helps the viewer turn their disgust into action, by refusing to put their own money into the machine.

I'd love to see a trend of including a list of those companies that advertised on the show being exposed, perhaps as a slide at the end of the video.

In all fairness I've been boycotting Wal-mart and Red Lobster for a long time now already. If that's what you wanna call it. I think their customers pretty much proudly support this kind of hate speech.

I'm wondering at what point he mentions this on his show directly.

I expect him to play it as being victimized and censored by vicious liberals telling lies, and faking outrage.
